To give back to Mother Earth, 2 trees will be planted for every purchase of this eBook. This will be done through the non-profit organization One Tree Planted.
Why Trees? Trees provide us with oxygen to breathe and also help absorb nasty pollutants in our environment. Forests also play a vital role in biodiversity—it is home to countless species of plants and animals. A lot of local communities also rely on our forests—and trees—for their livelihood and source of nutrition. And with the alarming rates at which our forests are being cleared and burned to be used for activities such as cattle grazing, I knew that reforestation is something I want to help support.

324 trees for India, Ethiopia, and the Philippines
324 donated for my eBook sales for my most recent eBook sales. It was initially 322 trees, but I added 2 so we could donate 108 trees each to these 3 places!
440 trees for Australia and the Philippines
For my eBook and Bundle sales from December and January, I've donated the 440 trees to both Australia and my home country, the Philippines.
300 trees for Australia!
Given the devastating bush fires that have damaged millions of hectares of land and affected so many people and animals, I've decided to donate 300 trees to Australia to help support the upcoming projects of One Tree Planted to reforest the areas affected by the fires. These were also part of the proceeds from The Vegan Bundle, so I want to say thank you to everyone who got theirs.
We donated 264 trees in December!
164 trees were from my November eBook sales while 100 were from my two friends Stef and Kyra who generously donated part of their event proceeds to these various reforestation initiatives. The 164 trees were donated to reforestation initiatives in Asia and Australia while the 100 trees were donated to Latin America. These trees were also donated during Giving Tuesday so One Tree Planted is also matching each donation, doubling the 264 trees to 528! 🌳
We donated 348 trees in November!
It was initially a total of 347 trees but I decided to donate an extra one to be able to plant an equal number of trees in each location. We're planting 116 trees in each of the locations below! These are from my first batch of eBook sales made in September-October 2019. Thank YOU for making this possible. 🌳
Where will the trees be planted?
Haiti
Reforestation is a major challenge for Haiti. Centuries of over-farming and poor agricultural methods have destroyed the region’s soil. Erosion makes it very difficult to grow food, and dramatically increases the impact of natural disasters. Planting trees here will help restore nutrients to the soil and teach local farmers how to use the land responsibly and profitably.

Peruvian Amazon
More than 60% of Peru is covered by the Amazon rainforest. This reforestation project is located in the Madre de Dios region, home to over 10 percent of the world's bird species. The goal is to restore and protect the "buffer zone" between Tambopata National Reserve, Bahuaja-Sonene National Park, and the city of Puerto Maldonado. This area has been identified as a high risk zone for deforestation and degradation due to unsustainable agricultural practices in the region. Planting trees here will help conserve habitat for the Jaguar and hundreds of other species living in the protected areas, while providing sustainable livelihoods to local people.

Mindanao, Philippines
Over the last century, the Philippines has suffered a staggering amount of deforestation, from some 70% forest coverage down to just 20% today, largely due to illegal logging activities. The impacts of deforestation has been felt throughout the country, causing food shortages, poor water quality, landslides, and the endangering of wildlife habitat. Since the 1990s the Philippines has promoted reforestation efforts to push back against this loss of forest coverage, replanting over 1,000,000 hectares of forest. This project supports those efforts on the island of Mindanao in the protected landscape of Mt. Matutum.
